The Renamer The Renamer is simple and easy-to-use indexing and organizing app for all your TV shows and media files. There are quite a lot of possible renaming actions to choose from.
The options before you in this app are simply fantastic. Or if you want something more basic, you can specify that your files be renamed in sequential order from number 1 onwards. For example, you can specify EXIF data from your photos as the basis for your renamed files or the ID3 tags from your MP3 music. What is particularly good about File Renamer is the remarkable flexibility of the rules and how far they can reach into your files to pull information. No need to go fiddling around again, trying to work out how you managed to do it last time. The rule you just implemented will then be added to the Rules Manager so next time you want files changed exactly the same way, just choose the same rule. When you have the filenames exactly the way you want them, click “rename now” and the filenames will be changed. This is good because you will then see whether or not you are on the right track. Choose your options and you will see your filenames change in real-time. The menu underneath will then change to that action’s options, so you can tweak the rule. If you're a photographer you should look towards Rename It! Pro and File-Renamer but if you're using a media server or need to index videos, you should check out Filebot. Over to youĭeciding which bulk renamer to use depends largely on what you need them for. This is nowhere near as powerful as the options listed above but could be useful in specific usage cases. Windows 10 will realize you've named multiple files the same thing and add numbers at the end of each so you don't have duplicates.
If all you need to do is rename a batch of files into a naming structure like "Football(1), Football(2)" then you can select all the files at once and name them the same thing. While there aren't batch renaming tools built into Windows 10, you can use the File Explorer to do basic renaming.
